Starbucks Coffee Co announced on Oct 24 its commitment to strengthening investment in poverty alleviation efforts among coffee farming communities in China.
The leading international coffee chain said it will train 50,000 farmers across the country through Starbucks China Farmer Support Centers by the end of 2023, while improving the education and health of 6,000 children in 30 villages.
The first phase of the project began with a pilot program with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation in Conggang and Nankang villages in Baoshan, Yunnan province.
