2nd consultation held on JSA
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and the US-led United Nations Command held the second consultation on Monday on disarming the Joint Security Area in the inter-Korean border area, the ROK's Defense Ministry said. The first one was held on Oct 16. The consultation was made to discuss the disarmament of the JSA, which was agreed upon by defense chiefs of the two neighbors during the Pyongyang summit in September between top DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and ROK President Moon Jae-in. The JSA was set up after the 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice. Soldiers from the two countries have conducted a 20-day operation to remove land mines inside the JSA from Oct 1.
