New case of swine fever reported

China has confirmed a new outbreak of African swine fever in Tianjin, and 292 pigs were confirmed infected while another 189 were found dead, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The outbreak occurred in a farm in the city's Jizhou district. The ministry has dispatched a team to the farm to guide the disposal work. It said the outbreak has been effectively controlled after local authorities sealed off the area, killed the pigs and conducted biosafety disposal and disinfection.
