CNPC plans to increase clean energy capacity

Company's natural gas production in the country will account for more than half of its domestic output by 2020

China National Petroleum Corp, the nation's largest oil and gas producer by domestic annual output in the country, has pledged to gradually increase its share of clean energy production capacity through increasing its output of natural gas and related facilities.

The company will shift its focus from oil to gas, with its domestic natural gas production accounting for more than half of its total domestic primary energy output by 2020, said Zhang Jianhua, the president of CNPC.
