Taishan Mountain
Taishan Mountain, extending from 150 to 1,545 meters above sea level, is a mountain of historical and cultural significance located north of the city of Tai'an. As a sacred landmark in the province, emperors visited Mount Tai for sacrifices and meditation. Countless poets visited the mountain for inspiration, so did writers and painters, which left a great deal of cultural relics on the mountain. Rock inscriptions and shrines scattered around the mountain. Mount Tai has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. In 2017, the scenic area of Mount Tai received about 20 million visits.
