Art by disabled children on show

Global charity Save the Children exhibited a collection of photographs taken by physically disabled children at a shopping center in Beijing on Aug 17. Starting from September in 2016, the charity has been inviting photographer Liu Yuyang to teach disabled children at an elementary school in Yunnan province. China currently has about 5 million disabled children, and over 50 percent study in specialized schools. Save the Children, however, has been encouraging disabled children to study at mainstream schools with their peers, and calling for better infrastructure and teaching expertise since 2009.
