Payout follows mahjong death

The boss of a mahjong center in Longquan has agreed to pay 120,000 yuan ($17,500) in compensation after a female player died recently, while her three playing partners have each agreed to pay 40,000 yuan. The 34-year-old woman who died was one of four women playing a mahjong game at the center. She had a good hand and became excited, but she died after losing the game. Her playing partners said she had high blood pressure. After mediation organized by police, the boss of the center and the three other players agreed to pay compensation to the woman's family.
