2 dead in Paris knife attack

A man with severe psychiatric problems killed his mother and sister and seriously injured another woman in a knife attack on Thursday in a suburb of Paris. Police shot and killed the man soon afterward. The Islamic State group, which has a history of opportunistic claims, swiftly claimed responsibility. French prosecutors are not treating the attack as a terrorism case, official said.

Navy seizes 10 tons of drugs

Mexico's navy seized 10 tons of synthetic drugs in a rural location near the western city of Culiacan, it announced on Wednesday. The navy said in a statement that its forces seized the drugs in large sacks and plastic drums on Tuesday in the community of Los Cedros. They also seized a dump truck. They said the area was a site for the movement of multi-ton quantities of drugs.

New shots show isolated tribe

New aerial images released on Tuesday give a rare glimpse of an isolated tribe in Brazil's Amazon, showing 16 people walking through jungle as well as a deforested area with a crop. Brazil's agency for indigenous affairs, Funai, said it captured the drone shots during an expedition last year to monitor isolated communities, but only released them now to protect their study.
