Culture: Tricolor glazed pottery-making revived
Gao Shuiwang is a leading figure in the revival of tricolor glazed pottery, or sancai, a porcelain characterized by a glaze with three intermingled colors. The production skill, which flourished in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), is complex and listed as one of a national intangible heritage in 2008. Nanshishan village in Henan province is regarded as an important home of sancai culture, with more than 70 enterprises now engaged in the sector.
