Restroom stunt attracts criticism

Around China

An unusual team event held by a tea company in Zhangzhou last month to prove it has the cleanest restrooms in the country has been criticized by netizens. Footage posted online shows more than 20 employees, crammed into a men's restroom, watching as a female manager takes a handful of rice balls and swirls them around the bowl of a urinal before popping one in her mouth. The other workers then follow suit. The tea company said it was not a publicity stunt but an annual event, dating back 25 years, that demonstrates its commitment to cleanliness.
