Indonesia returns yacht for probe

Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Monday that Indonesia has handed over a luxury yacht allegedly bought with money stolen from the multibillion-dollar looting of a state investment fund. In a Facebook video, Mahathir thanked Indonesia's government and President Joko Widodo for returning the $250 million yacht, Equanimity, which was seized by Indonesia off Bali in February in cooperation with the US FBI.

Road accident causes explosion

A road accident caused a large explosion and a fire near Bologna airport in northern Italy on Monday, police said, and local media reported some people had been injured. Police said they had closed off the motorway where the crash took place as well as the surrounding area in Borgo Panigale, on the outskirts of the city. Photos on social media showed a huge ball of fire and black smoke billowing into the sky at the scene of the crash. No further details were immediately available.

Woman, 96, appears for exam

While proving age is merely a number and has nothing to do with your passion, 96-year-old Karthiyani Amma was among the 40,440 people appearing for the literacy examination in Kerala on Sunday. The southern state in India has a high literacy rate compared to other Indian states. Amma, who was the oldest examinee who appeared for the exam at the government primary school in Cheppad, was tested on reading, writing and mathematics in the 100-mark paper.
