Mueller raring to make up for Germany fiasco

Germany international Thomas Mueller says his country's shock early exit from the World Cup will provide "huge motivation" when he starts the new season.

The Bayern Munich forward, 28, was one of several 2014 World Cup winners who played poorly in Russia as previous holder Germany crashed out of the competition by finishing bottom of its pool.

Humiliating Group F defeats to South Korea and Mexico will motivate Mueller and his teammates in Germany's first match of the new Nations League tournament against newly crowned World Cup winner France in Munich on Sept 6.
