Zeiss Vision teams up for free lunch program

By Li Wenfang in Guangzhou | China Daily | Updated: 2018-08-02 07:37

German optical products firm Zeiss Vision Care is working with a crowd-funding platform of Tencent Holding's charity unit to step up its campaign of donating free lunches to poor children in China.

Zeiss and its business partners will donate a lunch for every one donated by the public on the platform, said Yang Xiaoguang, vice-president for sales at Carl Zeiss Vision (Guangzhou), the local unit of the German firm.

With an interactive game "What's for lunch?" on the platform, the new project aims to draw people's attention to the plight of children in poor regions so that more action can be taken to improve their situation, he said.
