The photo from July 25, 1986, in China Daily showed a refrigerator production line in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. The line at the Electrical Equipment Co was the country's largest and most modern refrigerator production facility at that time.

The computerized factory, retooled from an imported plant, was capable of producing 200,000 units a year.
