Heavy rain coming to Beijing, Hebei

By Cheng Si | China Daily | Updated: 2018-07-24 07:33

Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province are expected to be hit by torrential rain as a result of Typhoon Ampil, which made landfall in Shanghai on Sunday before heading north, the Beijing Meteorological Service said on Monday.

It said rain will start Monday night and last until Tuesday night. The eastern part of Beijing is expected to be hit hardest.

"Ampil reached the Shandong Peninsula on Monday, and will arrive in North China with a possible landing point near Tianjin late Monday night, bringing heavy rain to areas neighboring Tianjin, such as Beijing," said Guo Jinlan, chief forecaster of the service.
