SANTA FE, New Mexico - Self-driving cars and drone aircraft are impacting business in the energy and transportation sectors, according to a technology innovation initiative proposed by Brian Sandoval, the chairman of 2017-18 National Governors Association Summer Meeting.

The three-day event, on the theme of "Ahead of the Curve, Innovation Governors", kicked off on Thursday and threw light on technology innovation and the opioid addiction epidemic in the United States.

The plenary included a progress update on Nevada Governor Sandoval's technology innovation initiative, which he announced when he became the 2017-18 NGA chairman in July 2017.
