Carl finally makes the grade

Former US college player "Carl" Yuan Yechun was overjoyed to finally make the grade on the PGA Tour Series-China on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Chinese amateur closed with back-to-back birdies to secure a dramatic one-stroke victory over England's Callum Tarren in windy conditions at the Qingdao Championship in Shandong province.

And having featured in a final group on a Sunday for a third consecutive tour event and finishing joint-third at last week's Yantai Championship, Yuan was thrilled to get his hands on the main prize.
