Taiwan delegation impressed with Xi's confidence in future

Members from a visiting Taiwan delegation led by former chairman of the Kuomintang party Lien Chan hailed General Secretary Xi Jinping's remarks during their meeting for conveying confidence in the country's reunification.

Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met the delegation at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday.

Yok Mu-ming, chairman of Taiwan's New Party, said after the meeting that he was impressed by the confidence shown by Xi.
