Recycling event held in Beijing

The China Environmental Protection Foundation and bottle manufacturer COFCO Coca-Cola held a bottle recycling event on June 27 in Beijing to encourage people to sort trash and promote public awareness. Li Chengfeng, director of the foundation, said that environmental education for children is vital as they will decide what society will be like in the future. Li said the event was a good platform to raise children's awareness of environmental protection as well as among people in local communities. The program has called for consumers to put used bottles into recycling machines. The intelligent trash sorting system will process and clean the bottles before making them into products, including bags and T-shirts.
