Joint teams for Asian Games

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea will field joint teams in three sports - canoeing, rowing and women's basketball - at the Asian Games in Indonesia, organizers said on Thursday. He said further details about logistics would come later. The DPRK and the ROK will also march together in the opening and closing ceremonies, officials said. Organizers met on Thursday with officials from the two countries to hammer out plans to field joint teams.

Policeman charged over shooting

A white Pennsylvania police officer was charged with criminal homicide eight days after fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager in the back in a case built quickly on the testimony of multiple witnesses, video and the officer's own conflicting statements. East Pittsburgh officer Michael Rosfeld was charged on Wednesday in the June 19 shooting death of 17-year-old Antwon Rose Jr. after the teen fled from a traffic stop. Rosfeld, 30, turned himself in and was later released on $250,000 bond.
