US report of laser attack 'unfounded'

Accusations made by United States media that China used laser weapons to attack US forces are "totally unfounded and sheer fabrication", Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said on Friday. US-based Aviation Week and Space Technology said in a report published on Tuesday that US Indo-Pacific Command alleged that more than 20 incidents of lasers being directed at US aircraft had been reported near the East China Sea within a recent unspecified period.
