People: Adventurer, 90, starts epic cross-country journey

Liu Sendao, 90, is young at heart and set off on an adventure in May to travel around the country. Starting from Chengdu, Sichuan province, Liu arrived in Changchun, Jilin province, to meet his daughter on Saturday. Liu believes "it is better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books". Post-retirement activity has kept him fit and agile. His son Liu Yunshan, 55, drove him to Chengdu on May 3 to start his quest and is accompanying him with a caravan on tow. They plan to travel more than 30,000 kilometers in three months. "If my body allows, I want to keep going straight ahead," the father said.
