World Bank hails 'solid' China outlook

Institution raises forecast for nation's 2018 GDP growth from 6.4% to 6.5%

The World Bank on Tuesday raised its forecast for China's year-on-year GDP growth this year to 6.5 percent from its earlier prediction of 6.4 percent, citing the country's "solid" economic growth so far this year.

Analysts said China may face more growth headwinds in the second half of the year and the authorities will finetune policies to stabilize growth if the situation unexpectedly sours.
