Scenic spot pays out for fatal fall

Administrators in charge of a Guangzhou scenic spot have been ordered to pay 45,000 yuan ($7,020) to the family of a man who died after falling from a waxberry tree. A court in Huadu district said the deceased man - identified as Wu, 60- was 95 percent to blame for the accident in May last year, while the other 5 percent was due to management loopholes at the scenic spot. Wu's family, who filed the lawsuit, had demanded 900,000 yuan in compensation.
