Cracked pipe cuts gas to 1,000 homes

Gas supplies have been restored to six residential communities in Ningqiang county after they were interrupted for two days when a pipeline ruptured during unauthorized construction work on Saturday, affecting more than 1,000 households. The incident happened about 8 am when the pipeline was broken by a construction company at a worksite. After an investigation, the company was found to be lacking approval to undertake any gas engineering projects.
