China catches up with global trends
A report analyzing corporate social responsibility trends around the globe and showing sample cases in China last year was released at a recent CSR forum held by China Europe International Business School. The school is a joint-venture educational institute for management and is based in Beijing. The report shows that CSR is attracting increasing attention from global corporations, and has been better integrated with their main businesses. In addition, Chinese firms are catching up with global trends in CSR, and focusing more on environmental protection. "CSR has shown its significant role in helping companies cushion against risk and raise public recognition, and more and more Chinese firms are aware of that," said Li Wen, chairman of China Universal Asset Management Co, at the forum.
