'Sugar daddy' app not registered

The local government verified on May 25 that the dating website Seeking Arrangement, whose public account on WeChat has been banned, is not registered as an information technology company in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. They said the company has never operated in Pudong New Area or paid any tax there. An investigation of the "sugar daddy" app started earlier this week after local media called on the government to shut down its business arranging "sugar dating", which might face charges of sheltering prostitution.
