On chinadaily.com.cn

Chinese mountaineers Wang Fuzhou, Kunbo and Qu Yinhua made their first ascent of Mount Qomolangma, known as Mount Everest in the West, from the North Slope on May 25, 1960. This was the first time that anyone had ascended the world's highest peak from the North Slope. Since then, many Chinese mountaineers have climbed Mount Qomolangma using this route.
