Intangible heritage museum to open
Work has been completed on the Tibetan Museum for Intangible Cultural Heritage in Lhasa after nearly two years of construction. It will open to the public in the second half of this year. The 40,000-square-meter museum cost 120 million yuan ($18.9 million). The design of the main building incorporates styles from the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. It will exhibit several hundred items of intangible cultural heritage such as Gesar singing, Tibetan opera and thangka paintings.
