Suspects detained as police seize meth

Police in the border city of Pu'er, Yunnan province, seized nearly 97 kilograms of methamphetamine in two cases recently. In March, police in Ximeng county received information that a drug gang was making plans to transport a shipment of drugs into China through Jinghong. An investigation was carried out and police detained one suspect on May 4 on an expressway in Pu'er, and seized more than 34 kg of meth in the suspect's vehicle. On May 7, border inspection officers in Pu'er seized more than 62 kg of meth while checking a truck in Menglian county. Another suspect was detained.
