A comedian has apologized for saying on social media that he hoped Golden State's Draymond Green got a "shot in the face" after Game 4 of the Warriors' playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Andrew Polk, from Ruston, Louisiana, said the Twitter post, which also alludes to high gun violence rates in New Orleans, was meant as an "edgy joke" and he wished "no harm to anyone over a simple game".
Green, who has a reputation for feistiness and trash talking on court, had eight points, nine rebounds and nine assists in a 118-92 Warriors victory.
