Maternal, infant goods market expected to see 20 to 30 percent growth

By Fan Feifei | China Daily | Updated: 2018-05-01 07:47

China's maternal and infant goods market will maintain an annual growth rate of 20 percent to 30 percent over the next decade, with the integration of online and offline channels becoming an increasing trend, due to a rising demand by young parents for a high-quality lifestyle, according to a new report.

The market has already witnessed rapid growth, reaching 2.7 trillion yuan ($430 billion) in 2017, since the implementation of the second-child policy, according to Beijing-based internet consultancy Analysys.

It is expected that the number will reach 3 trillion yuan by 2018, with greater development potential in the second, third and fourth-tier cities than in the first-tier cities.
