BAIC launches smart operating system

BAIC Group unveiled a smart operating system called Darwin on Wednesday, which it said will "liberate people, please people and evolve itself". The system, built with partners Baidu and Bosch, boasts functions including an advanced driving assistance system, Level-3 autonomous driving, voice and gesture commands, according to the Beijing-based carmaker. BAIC said the system is able to learn from interactions so it can offer different solutions for different customers. The first model to sport the system is the electric EU5 which will hit the market in June. The model comes in four variants that will have a mileage ranging from 416 km to 450 km.
