Kabul blast death toll reaches 57
The death toll of an Islamic State suicide bombing at a voter registration center in Afghanistan's capital on Sunday has reached 57, officials said, adding that more than 100 people wounded. Public Health Ministry spokesman Wahid Majro said that among 57 people killed, 22 were women and eight were children. He said 119 people were wounded, among them 17 children and 52 women, and "the tolls could still rise". The bomber targeted civilians who were registering for national identification cards, Kabul police chief General Daud Amin said.

Korean Air heiresses to resign
Korean Air Lines said on Monday that two daughters of its chairman will resign from their executive positions amid mounting public criticism over the women's behavior and allegations that the family engaged in smuggling. An official at the Korea Customs Service, meanwhile, confirmed that authorities raided the airline's headquarters in Seoul seeking evidence on alleged smuggling and tariff evasion.

Palace: Kate gives birth to third child
Kate, the wife of Prince William, has given birth to a baby son, their third child, Kensington Palace said on Monday. The baby was born at 11:01 am and weighs 3.8 kilograms. William was present for the birth at St Mary's Hospital, where their other two children, George and Charlotte, were also born. The new prince is Queen Elizabeth's sixth great-grandchild and fifth-in-line to the British throne behind siblings Prince George, 4, his 2-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, their father William, and grandfather and heir Prince Charles.

Casualties in coalition air raids
At least 40 people were killed or wounded on Sunday when airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition hit a wedding ceremony in Yemen's northwestern province of Hajjah, local authorities said. A security official said the warplanes twice bombed the wedding ceremony in Alrakah village of Bani Kays district. The attack was the latest among a series of airstrikes resulting in the deaths of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthi rebels in Yemen since more than three years ago.

Far-right group attacks migrants
A far-right group launched a violent attack overnight on migrants staging a sit-in protest on the Greek island of Lesbos, injuring around a dozen people, police said on Monday. The violence erupted on Sunday after members of the radical "Patriotic Movement" gathered on the central square of the island's main city Mytilene, where about 200 Afghan asylum-seekers launched a sit-in protest last week against their miserable living conditions.
