Big data sector highlighted

Official stresses need to inject new impetus into the country's development

More efforts are needed to further integrate big data, artificial intelligence, and the internet with the real economy, which will inject new impetus into China's economic growth, a government official said on Monday.

"The big data sector has entered a critical development phase," Chen Zhaoxiong, vice-minister of industry and information technology, told a forum at the first Digital China Summit in Fuzhou, Fujian province.
