Janitor saves ring from dump

Around China

Sanitation worker Yao Weiguo has been lauded online for helping a jewelry store boss, surnamed Huang, find a missing 2-carat diamond ring - estimated to be worth over 100,000 yuan ($15,900) - hidden in 4 metric tons of domestic waste on April 9. Yao refused a reward from Huang, saying serving the public is what he should do. Yao immediately started looking for the ring among the waste when he was told by Huang that the item had been accidentally thrown into a garbage bin along with other domestic waste, and had been transported to Huaihaizhong road dump at about 7 pm. With the help of Yao, Huang got back his diamond ring.
