21 killed as bus falls off bridge
At least 21 people were killed and 12 others injured after a mini-truck carrying members of a wedding party fell from a bridge in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Wednesday. Authorities said the rescue work has been completed. Police have ordered investigations to ascertain the cause of the accident. Deadly road accidents are common in India, often due to overloading, bad condition of roads and reckless driving.

Unions, employers agree pay hike
Unions on Wednesday said they had clinched a deal with employers giving public sector workers a "significant" salary boost, following strikes that hit airports, train stations, hospitals and day care centers. The 2.3 million people working for state and local governments will see their wages increase in three stages between now and 2020, in an agreement Verdi union boss Frank Bsirske hailed as "the best result in many years".

Tycoon arrested over 1998 murder
When media tycoon Janos Fenyo was gunned down in his car by a dozen submachine gun bullets in downtown Budapest two decades ago it shocked the country and police never found who ordered the murder. Now police have detained Tamas Gyarfas, an executive at world swimming's governing body, on suspicion of ordering the murder, state news agency MTI said.
