Exporters to boost brand-building efforts
Chinese exporters will increase efforts in brand building and product structure adjustment to avoid potential future business losses brought about by an ongoing trade dispute between China and the United States.
"Only through more efforts in brand building and innovation can Chinese manufacturers avoid potential business losses that will possibly result from the dispute in the long term," said Oyang Jun, vice general manager of Gree Overseas Sales Co, a subsidiary of home appliance giant Gree Electric Appliances Inc.
The White House threatened to impose tariffs on $100 billion worth of Chinese products early in April, in addition to a $50 billion tariff package previously proposed, which provoked China to slap 25 percent tariffs on imports of soybeans, corn, airplanes and automobiles from the US.
