Experts: Questions about IP security misplaced

China has the confidence and capability to deal with any challenges in the field of intellectual property rights, an official with the State Intellectual Property Office said on Saturday.

"China's achievements in innovation were made not through stealing or plundering, but based on the down-to-earth efforts of the Chinese people," said Zhang Zhicheng, the office's head of intellectual property rights protection and coordination affairs.

On March 22, the United States Trade Representative issued a report outlining the findings of its investigation into China's practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property and innovation.
