Men flock to date single teachers

More than 300 single female teachers from Shenzhen were the main attraction at a big matchmaking event in Dongguan on March 25. The teachers teamed up to participate in the blind-date bonanza, which attracted more than 3,500 single men, mainly from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. One teacher in her 20s, surnamed Hu, who has taught in Shenzhen for four years, said female teachers usually have a small circle of friends and she had pinned a great deal of hope on finding a spouse at the event, which was organized by the local women's federation.
