Although China now boasts Li Haotong, the first Chinese man to crack the world's top 50, and Feng Shanshan, ranked the world's No 1 female golfer, the country still needs to concentrate on nurturing more top talent.
The China Tour, which launched its new season earlier this month with the Shenzhou Peninsula Classic in Shenzhou, Hainan province, has opened the doors for young homegrown golfers to follow the path of world No 41 Li in preparing themselves for bigger international stages.
Their next opportunity is the Bo Ao Open, which kicked off on Thursday in Bo'ao, Hainan province, with total prize money of 1.35 million yuan ($210, 000).
