No need to fuss about the lives chosen by others

China Daily | Updated: 2018-03-19 08:23

A SECURITY GUARD in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province who graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in biological science and technology has been criticized by many for wasting his education. Beijing News comments:

The media report that broke the story intentionally omitted the man's identity as a manager of the client liaison department of a property management company, and simply identified him as a security guard, a post often taken by migrant workers, presumably to sharpen the contrast between his education background and his job.

This kind of maneuvering of information, which is against the ethics of journalism, is to cater to the bias against manual laborers and migrant workers.
