Report: 'Sudden turn' led to collision
A "sudden turn" by the US warship USS John S. McCain led to a collision with a tanker last year off Singapore that left 10 sailors dead, Singapore's Transport Ministry said on Thursday by releasing the results of its investigation into the incident. It said a "series of missteps" by the destroyer's crew and insufficient action by those of the tanker, the Alnic MC, contributed to the accident.

MH370 report to be released
The full investigation report into the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be released after the latest search efforts are completed before July, officials said on Thursday, four years after the aircraft went missing. Flight MH370, carrying 239 people onboard, became one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries when it disappeared on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014.

Govt troops split rebel-held enclave
Government forces seized vast swaths of territory in the opposition-held suburbs of Damascus on Wednesday, effectively dividing the besieged enclave in two and further squeezing rebels trapped inside, state media reported. Russia's military announced on Monday that it was offering safe passage for rebels and their families out of eastern Ghouta, where some 400,000 people have been trapped.

Officer killed over wrong message
Missouri police officer who was shot and killed and two others who were wounded had been sent to the wrong house about 20 kilometers away following a 911 call, authorities said on Wednesday. They went inside the wrong home to determine if criminal activity was occurring. But a man with an extensive criminal history was in the residence and shot them.
