Vote on draft amendment to the Constitution on Sunday
A draft amendment to the Constitution was submitted to the national legislature for deliberation on Monday. Lawmakers will vote on it on Sunday, Xinhua News Agency reported. If adopted, this will be the Constitution's first amendment in 14 years. The People's Republic of China enacted the Constitution in 1954. The current Constitution was formulated in 1982 and amended in 1988, 1993, 1999 and 2004.
