Walmart promotes Chen to CEO of China arm

Dirk Van den Berghe, vice-president of Walmart Canada Corp and regional CEO of Walmart Asia Pte Ltd, promoted Chen Wenyuan (pictured) to president and CEO of Walmart China Co Ltd. Andrew Miles will be Chen's deputy. Chen said multichannel sales have great potential in China and he feels privileged to lead Walmart in expanding its Chinese business. Chen also said he will work on enhancing online and offline shopping experience for customers. Van den Berghe said the company will have more efficient operations under Chen's leadership. Before, Chen served as a regional president at McDonald's and as a senior consultant at Boston Consulting Group Inc.
