Education: University names youngest deputy dean

Liu Mingzhen, born in 1990, was formally appointed last month as deputy dean of the School of Materials and Energy at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu, Sichuan province. She is the youngest ever vice-president of the university and is a specialist in solar-cell research. During her PhD at Oxford, she was the main author of an article published in Nature, a leading magazine in the field.
