Art: Paintings of daughters warm hearts in Jiangsu

An art exhibition where paintings feature two little girls wearing traditional clothing in front of a classical background attracted widespread attention in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. The girls' father, also the painter, is a 32-year-old artist named Wan Li in Wuxi, Jiangsu. He spent three years painting 15 works, recording his daughters' lives and appearances. It takes Wan eight to 10 hours each day to meticulously depict his daughters' facial expressions, their clothes and the textures of different objects. The backgrounds - landscapes, flowers, and butterflies - are painted after finishing the main figures. "I feel like I'm talking to my girls when I'm painting. It will help me remember their childhood", said Wan. Visit our website to view more.
