For those fond of gossip, the athletes' village represents an intriguing part of Olympic folklore, becoming synonymous with stories of wild parties and rampant hookups as sportsmen and women from around the world supposedly waste little time in getting to know one another.

The reported distribution of 110,000 free condoms, the largest number in Winter Olympics history, at the Pyeongchang Olympics will, of course, fuel those notions.
