Shanghai Marriott Hotel Kangqiao, which opened in late January, will cater to a new generation of business and leisure travelers in the metropolis. It is located within easy reach from Shanghai's bustling city center, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and Disneyland resort. The new hotel is "suitable for family holidays and for those who want to make the most of their work trip," said Mike Fulkerson, vice-president of brand marketing for the Asia-Pacific at Marriott International.

Le Meridien, a luxury hotel brand owned by Starwood Hotels, is celebrating the upcoming Year of the Dog with latte art, created by its global latte artist Esther Maasdam. Through a year-long Inspiration Brewed Here campaign, to highlight coffee culture in Le Meridien hotels, the brand is encouraging its guests to explore Chinese destinations, as well as the country's culture and culinary delights.

Swissotel Beijing's management team led a delegation, including chefs, to Tianjin SOS Children's Village on Feb 2. Their donation to the village included nearly

14,000 yuan ($2,220). The amount was raised by the hotel staff and its guests, some of which was from a charity sales event about a year ago. Chefs in attendance also gave a cookie-making class to children on the spot. Swissotel Beijing has been supporting the China Association of SOS Children Villages for more than 10 years.

Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing is offering a holiday package, available until March 31. The package includes a one-night stay in a B. Duck-decorated room, a B. Duck children's gift, one extra bed for a child under 12 years old, and use of the health club and swimming pool. The offer is applicable every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and public holidays.

Rich Menu

Country Kitchen at Rosewood Beijing will launch a Chinese New Year meal from Feb 15-21. On the menu, the festive offering will include sliced Qingdao abalone with light soy sauce, Beijing roast duck, and a Chinese festive pot comprising shrimp, crisp pork belly, beef meat balls, tofu, zucchini, potato, cabbage, glass noodles and varieties of mushroom.
