Mother conned out of 540,000 yuan

A woman, surnamed Hu, lost more than 540,000 yuan ($86,000) after fraudsters called her cellphone and said her son would not be allowed to go to school in Hangzhou if she did not merge two social security accounts. The callers posed as a social security worker and a police officer. Hu was asked to send a large sum of money to a designated account.
